While scanning with the Metaroom Scan App, your 3D room model will also contain recognized by app room objects such as:
- Furniture (sofa, table, chairs, etc.);
- Windows;
- Doors.
How do I hide room assets in the 3D room model view?
If you don’t need to display room assets while working in the Metaroom Workspace, you can easily hide them from view without affecting the underlying model or export settings. Follow these steps to hide room objects in the 3D room model:
- Open the Metaroom Workspace in your desktop browser.
- In the Projects list, open the scanned space you want to work with.
- Go to the Model Tree in the left sidebar.
- To hide a room object, select it in the Model Tree and click the eye icon next to its name.
- A crossed-out eye icon indicates that the object is now hidden in the 3D view.
- To make it visible again, simply click the eye icon once more to remove the cross.
Remember: hiding objects only affects how they appear in the view mode within the Metaroom Workspace. If you want to exclude room furniture from an export file, make sure to select “Geometry Only” in the export settings.
How can I remove room furniture from the export file?
If you want to export a clean 3D model without any furniture or added 3D objects, you can easily do so by adjusting the export settings. Follow these steps to remove room furniture from the export file:
- Open the Metaroom Workspace in your desktop browser.
- In the Projects list, open the scanned space you want to export.
- Click the “Export” button in the top navigation toolbar.
- Choose the desired export format.
- In the “Level of Detail” section, select “Room Geometry Only” to export just the structure of the space, excluding all recognized furniture and manually created 3D objects.
- If you prefer to include furniture and all 3D elements, choose “Complete Model” instead.
Remember: Selecting “Room Geometry Only” will give you a clean layout of the scanned space, excluding any manually added 3D room objects.
