The Metaroom Scan App is capable of capturing the following space types:
- Single rooms.
- Multiple rooms in one go.
- Complex room shapes (L-shape, trapezoid, and curved walls*).
- Spaces up to 150–200 m² per scan section, depending on room complexity.
- Multiple floors (scanning room by room, floor by floor).
*In the current version, curved walls are represented by single straight sections.
Pro Tip: if you need to capture multiple rooms, scan one room after another.
Need to scan a larger space? For spaces up to 1,000 m² and beyond, you can scan multiple sections and combine them into a single project. This feature is currently available in beta as part of our Enterprise Building Capture capability. For more details about the Enterprise Building Capture feature, watch our webinar.
Be aware that the following obstacles can negatively influence scan results:
- Spaces larger than 150–200 m² per section (such as open warehouses).
- Full-height mirrors or glass walls.
- Complex ceilings.
Pro Tip: to help the LiDAR sensor accurately recognize a glass wall or reflected mirror, cover it with a small sheet of paper in the corners. We also recommend pointing your device at the edges or borders of the glass wall so the Metaroom Scan App can better detect and capture its frame.
Remember to always use the latest version of the Metaroom Scan App for the best results — we’re constantly working on enhancing our technology.
