Project sharing 

In the Metaroom Workspace, you can share your scanned spaces with colleagues and clients in two ways:

• Project Copy link: shares an editable copy of the project with another Metaroom account. The recipient can work on their copy independently — changes made by either party are not visible to the other.
• Public link: shares a view-only version of the project without requiring a Metaroom account — ideal for showcasing the space to clients.

What projects can be shared? 

You can share any scanned space you have created with your account. It is not possible to reshare a project that was originally shared with you by someone else.

Please note: an active subscription is required to create or redeem a sharing link.

How can I share a project copy?

A project copy link gives the recipient an editable copy of your 3D model. Follow these steps:

1. In the Metaroom Workspace, go to the Projects list.
2. Click the Share icon next to the project you want to share, or open the project and click the Share icon in the top navigation.
3. In the sharing window, click Create Copy under Share a Project Copy.
4. The link is automatically generated. Copy it and send it to your colleague to redeem.

Please note: the link is valid for 7 days. If it is not redeemed within this period, it will expire. Each link can only be redeemed once.

How can I create a public link?

A public link lets anyone view your scanned space without a Metaroom account. Follow these steps:

1. In the Metaroom Workspace, go to the Projects list.
2. Click the Share icon next to the project you want to share, or open the project and click the Share icon in the top navigation.
3. In the sharing window, under Share Public Link, enter a short descriptive name for the project and set an expiry date and time for the link.
4. Click Create Public Link.
5. The link is automatically generated. Copy it and send it to whoever needs access.

What data is included in the shared link? 

The shared link includes all information from the 3D model at the time the link was created. Any changes made to the model after the link is created but before it is redeemed will be visible to the recipient.

Changes made after the link has been redeemed will not appear in the recipient’s copy of the project.
