In the Metaroom Workspace, you can select individual room objects to view their details, take measurements, or group them for export.
Please note: object grouping is currently only available for the Relux Desktop export.
How can I select room objects in the 3D room model?
Follow these steps to select objects in the 3D model:
- Open your scanned space in the Metaroom Workspace.
- The Selection Tool is activated by default in the upper toolbar. If you need to reactivate it, click Selection Tool in the upper toolbar anytime you need it.
3. The following selection modes are available:
- Surface / Asset Mode: select a surface or asset by clicking on it.
- Wall / Asset Mode: select walls, assets, or openings directly.
- Room / Space Mode: select the room linked to the clicked object.
- Floor Mode: select the floor linked to the selected object.
4. Depending on the selected mode, the corresponding objects are highlighted in blue in the Model Tree on the left sidebar.
5. Use the following controls to navigate and select:
- Select an object: left-click on it (e.g., a wall).
- Select multiple objects: hold Shift and click on each object.
- Deselect objects: hold Alt and click on the objects you want to deselect.
- Rotate the model: hold the left mouse button and drag.
- Move the model: hold the right mouse button and drag.
- Zoom in or out: scroll the mouse wheel.
Pro Tip: depending on the selected mode, you can also navigate through Scan Frames in the Frame Interaction panel. For example, if Room / Space Mode is active and you click an object, it selects all related room objects, highlights them in the Model Tree, and shows all related to this room Scan Frames in the Frame Interaction panel.
How can I group room objects for Relux Desktop export?
Follow these steps to group objects for Relux Desktop export:
- Open your scanned space in the Metaroom Workspace.
- Click the Export button, select RELUX Desktop from the list of formats, and click Export. This activates the Relux Export Mode.
- Select the walls and objects that belong to the room you want to group:
- Click on individual room elements to select them — selected objects are highlighted in blue and listed in the right sidebar.
- To select multiple objects at once, hold SHIFT and drag the left mouse button over them.
- Once you have selected all the elements for the room, enter a name in the Group Name field (for example, “Bathroom”) and click Create New Group. The group will appear in the Model Tree.
- Repeat steps 3–4 for each room you want to categorize.
- To export a room, check the box next to its name in the Model Tree, name the Export in Name field, select level of export details, then click Relux Export in the right sidebar.
