Mastering object selection and grouping in the Metaroom Workspace is essential for refining your 3D room model. Keep in mind that grouping of objects is currently only possible for the RELUX Desktop export.
How can I select room objects in the 3D room model?
Follow these steps to select objects and navigate through the 3D model:
- Complete the scan using your Apple Pro device and the Metaroom Scan App, then proceed to the Metaroom Workspace.
- Navigate to your desired room by selecting the scanned space from the “Project” tab.
- The scene of your 3D room model will be opened.
- Activate selection mode by clicking on the “Selection Tool” in the upper toolbox navigation:
- To rotate the model, hold down the left mouse button and drag;
- If you want to move the model, use the right mouse button and drag the model to your preferred position;
- A simple left click on the object like a wall, will select it;
- If you would like to select more than one object, hold SHIFT and click on the room objects;
- To deselect the objects, hold ALT and click on the room object’s that you would like to deselect;
- For zooming out or in, scrawl the mouse wheel.
How can I group room objects in the 3D room model?
If you’d like to group specific room objects for RELUX Desktop export, follow the steps below:
- Complete the scan using your Apple Pro device and the Metaroom Scan App.
- Open the Metaroom Workspace in your desktop browser and go to the “Projects” tab.
- Select the scanned space you want to work with to open the 3D room model.
- Click the “Export Project” button in the top toolbar.
- From the export format dropdown, select “RELUX Desktop (.rdf)” and click “Export.” This will activate the Relux export mode.
- In the 3D model view, click on the walls and assets you want to include in your custom group.
- After selecting all desired objects, go to the right sidebar, enter a group name, and click “Create New Group.” Your new group will appear in the Model Tree and can now be selected for export.
- To proceed, select the newly created group from the Model Tree.
- Click “Relux Export” in the right sidebar to start the export process.
- Once the export is complete, navigate to the “Export” tab and click the “Download” button to save your file.
