Notes in scanned spaces 

Both the Metaroom Scan App and Metaroom Platform allow you to add annotations to space elements and Snapshots. This feature is particularly helpful for projects involving multiple team members or cross-team collaboration. Adding Notes ensures that important details, which might not be visually evident in the 3D model, are well-documented. 

How to add Notes to Snapshots while scanning with Metaroom Scan App? 

After scanning a section of your space, you can add Notes to your Snapshots to annotate important information about specific areas. Here’s how: 

1. Start scanning the room with the Metaroom Scan App. 
2. Capture important areas by pressing the Snapshot button. 
3. Finish the scan section by clicking the “Finish Section” button. 
4. In review mode, click on the Snapshot you want to edit. This will open the Snapshot editing mode, where you can: 
   • Change the Snapshot color 
   • Add written notes to the Snapshot 
5. When finished, return to review mode. From here, you can either finalize the scan or add another section. 
6. Once you’ve finalized the full scan, you can access the 3D room model with Snapshots and Notes on the Metaroom Platform. Here, you can add more notes as needed or export your model in the desired format. 

How to add Notes to Snapshots in Metaroom Platform? 

You can annotate Snapshots with written notes that will also appear in your PDF Project Reports. Adding Notes helps you document essential details about areas that may not be visually evident in the 3D model. Here’s how to do it: 

1. Open your scanned space in the Metaroom Platform. 
2. Find the Snapshot you want to annotate: 
   • Find the Snapshot in the Model Tree on the left sidebar, or 
   • Click directly on the Snapshot in the 3D model view. 
3. Add your Note: 
   • On the bottom-left sidebar, type the information you want to annotate into the Notes field. 
   • Once done, click the green check mark to save your Note. 
4. Your Note is now linked to the Snapshot and ready for review. 

How to add Notes to room elements in the Metaroom Platform? 

1. Open your scanned space in the Metaroom Platform. 
2. Find the room element to annotate: 
   • Find it in the Model Tree on the left sidebar, or 
   • Click directly on the room element in the 3D model view. 
3. Add your Note: 
   • On the bottom-left sidebar, type the information you want to annotate into the Notes field. 
   • Click the green check mark to save your Note. 
4. The Note is now linked to the selected room element and available for review. 

Which Export Formats Support Notes? 

Currently, only Snapshot annotations are included in the PDF Project Report export format. Please keep in mind that Notes are not included in other export formats because most CAD software does not support text annotations. However, Metaroom’s 3D room model can always be shared with other team members, allowing them to review annotations.
