At Metaroom®, we understand that scanning environments can vary. Whether in a remote location, an area with weak connectivity, or if you prefer working offline, the app provides the flexibility to adapt to your surroundings.
Here’s how the Metaroom Scan App works without an Internet connection:
- Offline scanning capability: Metaroom Scan App is fully functional without an Internet connection. You can initiate the scanning process, scan rooms, and set Points of Interest while disconnected from the Internet. This makes it convenient for various scenarios, including scanning areas with limited connectivity or during travel.
- Scanning in flight mode: the Metaroom Scan App can also scan rooms even when your device is in flight mode. It ensures you can seamlessly capture 3D data without interruptions, regardless of your internet status.
- Uploads when connected: after scanning a room offline, the 3D room model will be securely stored on your device. When your device is connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi or mobile data, the app automatically uploads the 3D model to the cloud, and it can be accessible from your Metaroom platform account.
- Limitation while offline: it’s important to note that using the Metaroom Scan App offline requires a few considerations. Specifically, if your smartphone is not connected to the Internet during the scanning process, two limitations arise:
- You won’t be able to share your scanned room with colleagues in real-time.
- Opening your 3D room model within the app is only possible once it’s uploaded to the cloud.
It’s essential to be aware of these limitations while offline. However, rest assured that once your Apple Pro device is connected to the Internet and the scanned space is uploaded to the cloud, these limitations are promptly removed. It ensures a seamless transition and access to all features when connectivity is reestablished.
