Metaroom Scan App uses a LiDAR sensor to precisely scan spaces and provide professionals with accurate and detailed 3D room models.

Metaroom Scan App is currently only available on the Apple App Store. Our 3D room scanner app is free and has no in-app purchases. You can enjoy digitizing spaces with your iPhone Pro or iPad Pro anywhere and anytime.

Device requirements for Metaroom Scan App
Metaroom Scan App’s scanning functionality is currently compatible with all LIDAR-enabled Apple Pro devices (starting from iPhone 12 Pro and iPad Pro 2020 generation devices).
How does the Metaroom Scan App work?
Metaroom Scan App is designed for professionals of any age and industry. Therefore, you don’t need advanced knowledge of scanning or measuring spaces to digitize rooms with Metaroom Scan App.
Here is a step-by-step guide to start using the Metaroom Scan App:
- Download the app on your device:
- Click here to download the app from the Apple App Store;
- Or, go to the Apple App Store on your Apple Pro device, type ‘Metaroom’ in the search bar, and click the “Get” button to download the app.
- Open the Metaroom Scan App on your Apple Pro device.
- If you are a new user, you will need to create a new account by clicking the “Register” button:
- Fill out the registration form with your basic information and click the “Sign up” button.
- You will receive a confirmation email to verify your email address. Click “Confirm your email” in the received email.
- If you already have created an account, click on the “Login” button:
- Type your email address and password, and click “Sign in”.
- If you are a new user, you will need to create a new account by clicking the “Register” button:
- Once, you log in to the app, on the welcome screen you can see the following:
- Add scan – by clicking this button, you will initiate the scanning process.
- Scans – in this section, you can preview all your scanned and shared spaces in 3D and 2D views.
- Account – in this section, you can manage your account settings.
- Help – here, you can find in-depth tutorials to help you master scanning with the app.
- Settings – you can manage some of the app settings in this section.
- Click on the button that corresponds to your request.
How to scan with the Metaroom Scan App?
To start your scanning experience with the Metaroom Scan App, follow these steps:
- Open the Metaroom Scan App on your iPhone Pro or iPad Pro.
- Click on the “Add scan” button.
- Follow the explanation steps by clicking “Continue”.
- Start scanning by pointing your device’s camera at the top edge of the wall. Recognition lines will appear on the screen, meaning the app identifies the wall high up.
- Keep scanning by walking around the room and pointing the device’s camera to the walls and objects.
- Pro tip: your movement while scanning should be the same as when recording a video of the room. Just walk through the room and capture all the walls and objects with your device’s camera.
- Check the 3D room model created at the bottom of the screen to ensure that all needed walls and objects are captured.
- Once you have captured a room, click the “Finish section” button.
- You can once again review the created 3D room model on the appeared screen. If something is missing, click the “Rescan” button and scan again. If you are satisfied with a 3D model of the room, click “Finish Scan” and then “Finish Now”.
- Good job! Your part of the work is done, now it is our turn to upload a 3D room model to the cloud. It will take a couple of minutes, depending on the room size and the quality of your Internet connection.
- Once the 3D room model is uploaded, you can:
- preview it from the Metaroom Scan App -> Scans section;
- customize and export it from the Metaroom platform-> Projects tab.

How do you export scanned 3D room models from the Metaroom Scan App?
Metaroom Scan App doesn’t support a direct export function from the mobile app. Please log in to the Metaroom platform to initiate the export process and download your 3D room model in the needed format.
